Many technological advances have been made to ensure biosafety in the workplace. ABSA (American Biological Safety Association) is putting on a 5-Day Course of Principles & Practices of Biosafety that will introduce the essential elements of biosafety. NuAire is assisting the 5-day course by providing a Class II, Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet for ABSA’s use. NuAire is at the forefront in promoting biosafety, and continues to make technological advances towards a safer workplace environment.

ABSA Principles and Practices of Biosafety

The ABSA adheres to certain principles and practices of biosafety which they believe you should know about and practice in your workplace. In their five-day course, they focus on biosafety principles and practices that include an introduction to the essentials elements of biosafety, as well as an extensive resource list for reference. Along with teaching about potential biological hazardous materials, ABSA can educate you on how to minimize the risk of releasing hazardous materials or otherwise exposing yourself to them. They can also provide you with effective technical expertise for situations in which you may come in contact with biological hazardous materials.

ABSA’s end objective with this course is to give you hands-on experience so that you not only know how to describe biological hazards, but also identify potential risks associated with them, allowing you to effectively implement safety solutions your workplace. This course is for beginners entering the profession as well as biosafety professionals with up to three years experience.
