FumeGard NU-162 Conventional Fume Hood

The FumeGard 162 Conventional Corrosive-Resistant Polypropylene Fume Hood is designed to capture, contain, and exhaust fumes, gases, vapors, mists, aerosols, and particulate matter generated within the hood interior.

Features

Capture, contain and exhaust fumes, gasses, vapors, mists, aerosols and particulate matter with this FumeGard™ conventional fume hood. Its stress-relieved white polypropylene construction is 100-percent metal-free and resistant to rust and corrosion. Polypropylene's overall solvent and acid resistance make this fume hood an excellent choice for use in high-acid environments, including trace metal analysis, materials analysis, toxicology, semiconductor development, prototype/production and etching/plating operations.


Technology

Efficient Fume Removal

This fume hood has a single-piece airfoil across the bottom of the work access opening. As the sash is lowered, the face velocity increases rapidly. The balanced airflow design draws fumes, gasses, vapors, aerosols and, to a lesser extent, particulate matter generated within the negative-pressure hood interior and releases them through exterior exhaust duct vents, safely away from your work area.


Double-Wall Plumbing Chase

Double-wall construction forms the plumbing chase for routing and connecting all services. This compartment is under negative pressure to minimize fume buildup.


Design

Durable Polypropylene Construction

This FumeGard™ conventional fume hood is built primarily of stress-relieved, all-seam-welded polypropylene to which NuAire has added anti-oxidizing agents and UV stabilizers to increase tensile strength and improve thermal characteristics.


Counterbalanced Window

The FumeGard™ NU-162's counterbalanced Lexan® window provides a maximum 18-inch opening for easy access and closes securely for safety.


Easy Access for Installation and Maintenance

This fume hood is fitted with flush-mounted exterior/interior plumbing chase access panels, a removable rear baffle and modular electrical components for simple installation and maintenance. An included connector makes it easy also to vent a base cabinet.


Customizable

Modify this FumeGard™ conventional fume hood to fit your laboratory's specific applications. Choose from these optional features:

  • PVDF-lined interior or flame-retardant polypropylene fume hood
  • Composition stone/modified epoxy resin work surfaces
  • Airflow alarm systems
  • Remote-controlled service valves for air, vacuum and/or N2 available in polypropylene. Other options are available upon request.
  • Cascade or single-rinse tanks with/without nitrogen purge
  • Rear exhaust ducts wash-down system
  • Polypropylene, Teflon® or PVDF gooseneck faucets
  • Custom polypropylene sinks with chemically resistant "p"-trap

Safety

Meets Industry Standards

The FumeGard™ NU-162 has been independently tested to meet the requirements of ASHRAE Standard 110-1995 and SEFA-1-2006 to ensure the safe removal of undesirable elements during laboratory procedures.


Segregated Electronic Components

Electronic components containing metal are separated and contained from potential work zone and plenum acidic areas to ensure uninterrupted service.
