Designed after an ISO Class 5 Clean Room, In-VitroCell™ CO2 incubators maintain chamber conditions at a slight positive pressure to eliminate contaminated laboratory air to enter the growth chamber. Chamber air and gas pass through 99.99% HEPA filters before entering the chamber. Chamber air is reduced to one air change every 20 minutes to minimize cell desiccation. A sensor bay continually samples the chamber environment and makes adjustments when needed.
The interior growth chamber features smooth rounded corners eliminating potential hiding places for contaminants.
A 5 by 7 inch (127 by 178 mm) color touchscreen comes standard with every In-VitroCell™ CO2 incubator and is available in four different languages; English, Spanish, German, and French. Easily control system parameters using your finger to update set points or view carbon dioxide and temperature history graphs or download via USB. Service settings are readily available for the service professional to make quick updates to the chamber environment. System statuses are displayed onscreen when the incubator is sampling air, making chamber adjustments, or is in standby mode.
A microprocessor-based, non-dispersive, single source dual wave infrared (IR) sensor located in the incubator’s sensor bay controls CO2 levels within the chamber. The wavelengths used are absorbed by CO2 making the measurement insensitive to other components such as water vapor. Advanced design provides a very stable output minimizing drift and requiring less frequent calibration.
Foil heating elements wrapped in R5 insulation surrounds the 200-liter growth chamber. Dual temperature sensor probes relay information back to the NuTouch Electronic Control System to make adjustments as needed. In-VitroCell™ can maintain temperature uniformity through the 200-liter chamber within ±0.35°C at 37°C. Temperature is accurate within ±0.1°C
In-VitroCell™ CO2 Incubators recover heat at 0.12°C per minute. At a set point of 37°C; after a 30-second door opening model NU-5800 can recuperate back to a set point of 37°C within 15 minutes.
Relative humidity level up to 95% is achieved in the incubator by the use of a stainless steel pan filled with single distilled water no purer than one megaohm and placed on the bottom of the chamber.
