When to Replace a Biosafety Cabinet

Are you a biosafety officer, lab manager, or pharmacy director who is wondering when the right time is to replace your Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC)? This white paper will help you understand the considerations that should be made for BSCs that have been in use for over 20 years. It explains that BSCs have a 15-year usable life, and after 20 years, replacement parts may not be available. The paper also highlights the improvements in safety containment performance, ergonomics, serviceability, and energy efficiency that have been made over the years in newer BSC models and should be considered when making a repair or replacement decision. Furthermore, the paper also details the impact of the 1992 Revision of the Standard NSF/ANSI 49 on BSCs, which introduced new tests that provide a higher level of safety containment performance. Download the white paper to learn more about the factors to consider when determining when to replace your BSCs.
